Your residence already has hundreds of moments worth recognising.
- Someone attends an event.
- Someone represents the residence.
- Someone helps their section.
- Someone wins.
- Someone participates.
But where does all of that go?
Before anything changes
Your residence is already doing the work. It just isn’t being counted.
Saturday
50+ residents come to the event.
Someone counts heads at the door. Someone else takes a photo of the list.
Monday
Nobody remembers exactly who was there.
The list is in a phone. The phone belongs to whoever was on the door.
Two weeks later
Another competition starts.
New scoring, new spreadsheet, new group chat, same four people organising it.
End of term
Leadership tries to reconstruct participation by hand.
Three tabs, two chats and an argument about whether Aurora were even there.
A residence of five hundred people, and still no simple way to answer: who is actually taking part?
Not because anyone is doing it badly. Because the work is spread across a group chat, a spreadsheet, a form, a paper list and four different HC portfolios, and none of them talk to each other.
The same event, twice
Nothing about your Saturday has to change.
The event still happens. The same people still run it. What changes is what survives it.

With HuisPunte

Five steps, and the last one loops back to the first.
How it works
Four steps. Two of them are ours.

Your residence. Your system.
HuisPunte should look like your house, not like HuisPunte.
Every residence competes differently. Some by section, some by floor, some by room. Nothing here forces a house into a structure it does not already have, and the interface your residents open wears your colours, not ours.

HuisPunte supports the culture your residence already has. It is not an attempt to replace it with a tidier one.
Groups, not just people
Some of the things you score aren’t people at all.
A section. A room number. A year group. Your leadership can create these and give them points directly, with no account, login or person to chase. They exist so the scoreboard can hold the shape your residence competes in.

Who controls it
Your leadership. Not us.
Your residence’s authorised leaders control the residence information, events, points, groups, sections, residents, roles and approvals. We keep the software running and stay out of your standings.
The Prim does not have to be the only one holding it. Access can be handed to as many people as your HC actually has, scoped to what each of them runs.

People move
A year later, it still knows who lives where.
Residents change rooms. Sections get reshuffled. Someone moves house entirely. Residents or your authorised leaders can update any of it, and you decide whether a change needs approval first, or simply happens.

Points earned stay with the resident. What changes is which totals they feed from that point on, so HuisPunte does not quietly rewrite last term’s results.
What earns points
Whatever your residence decides earns them.
You decide what deserves recognition.
HuisPunte is the infrastructure. Your residence defines the culture: the categories, the values, and what counts for more than showing up.
Why this works
This isn’t gamification. It’s the oldest thing a residence does.
Houses have always kept score: colours, awards, honours boards, who gets called out at dinner. The scoreboard is not new. What is new is that it updates by itself, and that everyone can see it.
People notice what gets recognised.
- Residents can see their own contribution.
- Sections start competing without being told to.
- Small, unglamorous activities become worth doing.
- Turning up consistently gets rewarded, not just turning up loudly.
- Leadership can recognise people beyond the ten they already know.
Recognition creates participation.
Participation creates culture.
For the people running it
Eight things your HC stops doing by hand.
More participation
Residents have a visible reason to turn up, beyond being asked twice in the group chat.
Stronger section culture
One person showing up adds to their section. Sections start recruiting each other.
Better recognition
See who contributes consistently — not only the loudest or most visible residents.
Less admin
Stop rebuilding the same spreadsheet after every event. The register is the scoreboard.
Continuity
Next year’s HC inherits a working system instead of a folder nobody can find.
Better decisions
Find out which events actually generate turnout, and which ones only feel like they do.
Flexibility
Sections, floors, corridors, rooms, teams. Your structure, not a template.
Transparency
Every point carries a reason a resident can read. Fewer arguments, less suspicion.
From where a resident sits
Right now, attending gets you a photo at best.

Not so that anyone can be policed with it. So that next term’s calendar is built on what your residence actually turns up to, instead of on what worked three committees ago.

Where we stop
We are not trying to tell your residence how to operate.
Your house has traditions that predate all of us and will outlast this platform. Nothing here asks you to change any of them. HuisPunte adapts to the residence. The residence does not adapt to HuisPunte.

HuisPunte is free for residences.
- No implementation fee
- No monthly subscription
- No contract to start
There is no hidden cost to a residence taking part. HuisPunte is built and given to residences rather than sold to them. If that ever changes for anything, you will be told before it does, not after.
What we need from you
Seven things, and none of them are hard.
This is the complete list. There is no implementation project behind it, no training week, and nothing your residence has to buy, install or maintain.
We handle the platform.
- One contact person
- Confirmation that the residence wants to take part
- Your residence colours
- Your logo or crest, where you have one
- Your group or section structure
- Who should be allowed to manage what
- Help sharing the signup link with residents
Going early
The residences that join now are the ones who get to argue with us.
HuisPunte is still being shaped around how Stellenbosch residences actually work. The houses in it early are the ones whose objections turn into features, and whose way of doing things becomes the default everyone else inherits.
- Influence which features get built next
- Shape how residence functionality actually works
- Test new tools before anyone else has them
- Give feedback that changes the product
- Establish your structure and terminology early
- Become one of the houses other residences are shown
Help build the system your residence will actually want to use.

It’s built by hundreds of small contributions.
HuisPunte makes those contributions visible.
Turn participation into culture.
The whole ask
Bring HuisPunte to our residence.
Tell us the house and who you are. We will build the environment, send it back for your approval, and you can walk away at that point having spent about ten minutes.
- Costs the residence nothing
- No contract to start
- Nothing goes live until you approve it
- Your leadership controls it, not us
